About

Meet Hilina

Registered Psychotherapist and Counsellor. I believe no one should have to navigate life’s challenges alone - and that the hurts we cannot see deserve just as much care as the ones we can.

My Story

My interest in psychotherapy and counselling began with a simple observation: some of the deepest forms of pain are often the ones we cannot see.

Unlike a physical injury, emotional wounds do not always have visible signs. People can appear to be coping while carrying anxiety, trauma, grief, depression, or experiences that leave them feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or alone. Too often these struggles go unnoticed or are misunderstood, making it even harder for people to reach out for support.

This understanding is what led me to pursue a career in psychotherapy and counselling. I believe that no one should have to navigate life’s challenges alone. Therapy offers a space where you can slow down, feel heard without judgement, and begin making sense of your experiences in a way that feels safe and meaningful.

I am especially passionate about supporting adolescents and young adults as they navigate the many transitions that come with growing, discovering who they are, and managing the pressures of school, work, relationships, family, and identity. These years can be both exciting and incredibly challenging, and the right support can make a lasting difference.

As someone from a culturally diverse background, I also recognise the unique influence that culture, migration, family expectations, faith, and identity can have on mental health. I strive to create a culturally responsive space where clients feel respected, understood, and free to bring every part of themselves into the therapy room.

At the heart of my work is a genuine belief that every person has the capacity for growth, resilience, and meaningful change. Sometimes life’s experiences make it difficult to recognise our own strengths or know where to begin. My role is not to tell you how to live your life, but to work alongside you in discovering your strengths, developing practical tools, and building confidence in your own ability to move forward.

Therapy is a collaborative process. Whether we are exploring long standing patterns through psychotherapy or working towards specific goals in counselling, I aim to create a warm, compassionate, and empowering space where healing can happen at your own pace.

My Experience

I hold a Master of Psychotherapy and Counselling and a Bachelor of Psychology and Criminology from RMIT University. Alongside private practice, I work as a Mental Health Practitioner with the Victorian Department of Education and provide psychotherapy and counselling services through SupportLink HealthCare for NDIS participants.

Over the past several years I have worked with children, adolescents, adults, and families across education, disability, and community settings. These experiences have strengthened my commitment to providing evidence based, trauma informed, and person centred care tailored to each individual’s needs.

My work is guided by compassion, curiosity, and collaboration. I draw from a range of evidence based therapeutic approaches and adapt them to suit each client, recognising that there is no one size fits all approach to therapy.
